table tennis tournament 운영이 이렇게 힘들 필요는 없습니다
Fast turnaround between matches causes chaos
Table tennis matches finish quickly — often in 15-20 minutes. By the time you update the draw and find the next players, tables sit empty. Manual draw management cannot keep pace with the speed of play.
Group stage calculations are tedious
With best-of-five or best-of-seven formats, calculating group standings using match ratio, then game ratio, then point ratio across multiple groups is slow and error-prone. One mistake delays the entire knockout phase.
Handling rated and unrated players fairly
Mixing players with official ratings and newcomers without ratings makes seeding difficult. Getting the balance wrong means lopsided groups and first-round blowouts that frustrate everyone.

Group Stage + Knockout
Players compete in round robin groups of 3-4, then top finishers advance to a seeded knockout draw. The standard format for rated table tennis tournaments.
Knockout Draw
Seeded single-elimination bracket with consolation events for first-round losers. Fast to run for large fields when table availability is limited.
Round Robin
Every player plays every other player. Final standings by match ratio, game ratio, then point ratio. Ideal for small groups or league-style events.
Swiss System
Players are paired each round against opponents with similar records. More matches than knockout, no dead rubbers. Works well for large fields with limited time.
Team Event (Swaythling/Corbillon)
Teams of 3 players compete in a series of singles matches following ITTF team format ordering. Results determine the winning team based on matches won.

- Inter-club team leagues — Seasonal team competitions where clubs field teams of 3-4 players for home and away fixtures, with cumulative standings and individual statistics.
- Junior development tournaments — Age-group events with rating bands to ensure competitive matches, consolation draws so juniors get maximum playing time, and results that feed into rating calculations.
